The City of Roosevelt Park contracts with RMS Disposal to pick up garbage and recycling.
When? Every Tuesday morning by RMS Disposal.
Please call RMS to answer any questions you have at 788-5096. The Rules and Guidance for Refuse Collection are attached to the website. REMEMBER that all garbage/refuse must be self contained within the cart provided.
Recycling is picked up bi-weekly on Tuesday. The collection will begin January 2nd to all residences west of Roosevelt Road and January 9th for all residences to the east of Roosevelt Road. If you did not receive a recycling bin please call RMS at 788-5096. Newspapers may be placed in a brown paper bag and sat next to the recycling bin.
Large Item Pickup
When? On Tuesday or Wednesday every week. HOWEVER, you must have a green tag from City Hall. Residents will be allowed two green tags at no charge per year and if needed additional tags may be purchased at City Hall. If a large, bulky, or heavy item is left out in front of a residence without a green tag the City will pick it up and a fee will be placed on your next water bill. Place large items on the curb no earlier than 1-2 days before scheduled pick up. Thank you for your cooperation.
Yard Waste Pick-up
When? Tuesday morning - April through November . Lawn and Leaf bags are available at City Hall: 1 bundle (5 bags per bundle) $2.50 or 3 bundles $6.00.
Put leaves and yard waste into paper landscape bags, or in a container rented from RMS specifically for yard waste. Do not put leaves in plastic bags! Place on the terrace Monday night. Larger yard waste (bushes, trees, limbs, etc.) does not need to be in a container but should be cut into approximately 4 foot long pieces and set to the curb no earlier than 1-2 days before Monday.
The City will collect brush on Monday of every week during the spring, summer, and fall. If a contractor maintains your yard or does tree trimming/removal, the contractor is responsible for all clean-up and removal of yard waste.
