Waste Disposal

The City of Roosevelt Park contracts with RMS Disposal to pick up garbage and recycling. This service is provided by the City.

Garbage Pick-up

When? Every Tuesday morning.

Please call RMS to answer any questions you have at 788-5096. The Rules and Guidance for Refuse Collection are attached to the website. REMEMBER that all garbage/refuse must be self contained within the cart provided. Bags are available for purchase at City Hall (10 - 33 gallon bags for $5) if your waste does not fit in the cart.

Recycling

Recycling is picked up bi-weekly on Tuesday. The collection will begin January 2nd to all residences west of Roosevelt Road and January 9th for all residences to the east of Roosevelt Road. If you did not receive a recycling bin please call RMS at 788-5096. Newspapers may be placed in a brown paper bag and sat next to the recycling bin.

Large Item Pickup

When? On Tuesday with refuse and recycling. HOWEVER, you must have a tag and schedule the removal of large items. Residents will be allowed two free pickups which must be scheduled with City Hall and who will provide the stickers/tags. Any additional heavy items may be picked up by RMS with the purchase of stickers from the City. If a large, bulky, or heavy item is left out in front of a residence, the City will pick it up and a fee will be placed against your taxes.

Yard Waste Pick-up

When? Tuesday morning - April through November . Lawn and Leaf bags are available at City Hall: 1 bundle (5 bags per bundle) $2.00, 2 bundles $4.00, 3 bundles $5.00

Put leaves and yard waste into paper landscape bags, or in a container rented from RMS specifically for yard waste. Do not put leaves in plastic bags! Larger yard waste (bushes, trees, limbs, etc.) does not need to be in a container but should be cut into approximately 4 foot long pieces. Place on the terrace Monday night.

If a contractor maintains your yard, the contractor is responsible for all clean-up and removal of yard waste.
